REVIEWS: Fes Desert Trip
Great, safe tour of Morocco with awesome caring local guides
“Our group of friends (with kids ranging in age from baby to 16 years) just returned from a tour with Rachid and two other guides. A couple of my friends have also posted their reviews–and I need to echo their thoughts as well as give some advice for those planning trips. Our accommodations were fantastic. We walked into the first Riad at night and it felt like something out of a fairy tale! (The dinner at our first Riad was one of the best meals I had in Morocco.) The “camping” in the Sahara was a once-in-a-lifetime experience…as were the camels and the sandboarding was so fun. Rachid and the other guides were incredibly happy and also so very attentive to our group.
Each of the drivers spoke like 3-5 different languages and worked very hard to make sure we all were having a good time. (In fact, Rachid woke up at 4 am to arrange for private transportation for one member of our group to get back to Fes for a flight when the mountain pass unexpectedly was closed due to snow)…”

Magical! Breathtaking! Speechlessly lovely!
“Even before my 4 days 3 nights Sahara tour, Ismail, our guide and enterprising young owner of Camel Excursion impressed with his swift responses, accommodating manner, and goodness – all I felt just communicating with him via email.
The camel ride, the sunset, the sandfish, the glam camp (go luxe everyone! You’ll be so wowed!), and the welcome hospitality totally blew me away! And at dinner, when the lights dimmed, Ismail, Muhammed (owner of the glam camp), the other guides, and all staff surprised me with a birthday cake and traditional drum performance in celebration – all this even more precious after I found out thru’ our after-dinner campfire chats that birthdays have no significance to the Berbers and yet, they made a big fuss for me cos it matter to us urbanites.
Do stay up and gaze into the pitch darkness of the Sahara sky glistening with twinkling stars & the Milky Way (inshallah) and listen…..to the sound of the wind…. and the sound of silence… esp the silence…so surreal, so intimate, so sensual. Just like how I imagined it and way much more….
I highly recommend anyone to go to the Sahara with Ismail and his team. You’ll not only get a Sahara experience you’ll never forget, you will also experience a little bit of the Berber magic and goodness!
This, hands down is one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had… and I travel very regularly…”
