5 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

In our 5 day desert tour from Marrakech, you explore the Sahara of Merzouga and the High Atlas Mountains. Desert tour starts from Marrakech and visits Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, and Dades Valley. Secondly, it moves to Todra Gorges towards the Merzouga desert. There, you experience a camel trekking trip and meet nomads. Finally, you drive to Ouarzazate from another destination in the Anti-Atlas Mountains. And drive back to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains.

Day 1: Marrakech To Dades Valley

You will meet our local driver at your Riad and travel to Dades Valley. Your traveling will be along the High Atlas Mountain to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. You will take a break here for lunch and visit the Kasbah. The kasbah is home to Thami El- Glaoui who was the former ruler of the Atlas. Further, you visit the famous Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate. After that, our local driver will take us to visit Skoura village and drive to Rose Valley. Here, the Rose Festival is organized each year to celebrate the rose season. You will end your day in Dades Valley and spend a night in Riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley to Merzouga

After breakfast, you start your second day of the desert tour. You will leave Dades Valley and drive along with Berber towns and palm three towards Tinghir. In this town, you visit Todra Gorges. It is a popular rock climbing destination. It is characterized by high rocks and valley tree groves. Later, you stop in Touroug for lunch and a visit to a traditional Berber cloth cooperative. From here, you depart to Erfoud and The Sahara of Erg Chebbi. In Merzouga desert, you check into a Riad/Hotel and have a welcoming mint tea. Overnight.

Day 3: Sahara Desert Tour

Once you have breakfast, you start your desert excursion. It will be a great experience by 4×4 to visit desert areas. Thus, the drive will take you to Khamlia village where there are Gnawa musicians. They will entertain you with their traditional music and drive to another site. In Mifis site, you visit an old work of mines and fossils and other minerals. Afterwards, you encounter nomads in hand-made tents. We will have Berber pizza for lunch then drive back to start your camel trekking trip. The camel trip takes around 1h 30min to reach the camp. There, you have dinner and enjoy music around the fire.

Day 4: Sahara desert - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate

Today, the trip will select a different road to Ouarzazate. So, you will come back by camels and meet your driver to resume the tour. There will be a visit to a weekly market in Rissani and, drive to Draa Valley via another desert of acacia trees. Also, make stops on your way for panoramic views. You will have lunch in Agdze and visit the longest Rive in Morocco called the Draa River. Later, you enjoy the mountains and curvy roads in the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Finally, the desert tour reaches Ouarzazate and you spend a night there.

Day 5: Ouarzazate - Marrakech
