Casablanca Desert Tour 5 days : Itinerary

Day 1 : Casablanca airport – Rabat – Fes

Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by your private driver at the airport. Then, your Casablanca Desert Tour 5 days adventure will truly begin. Your driver will take you to visit Hassan II Mosque and continue to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, where you will have the chance to see the Hassan tower,Atlantic Ocean and the Kasbah of Oudayas before heading to another Imperial City of Morocco; the spiritual city of Morocco: Fes.Your driver will then transfer you to your Riad in Fes where you can rest and recuperate from your travels. Depending on your arrival time, night in the Riad/hotel

Day 2 : Exploring Fes

After breakfast, you can wander the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. First stop is the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter and the first Mellah ever built in Morocco in the 16th century. In Fes you’ll get to visit all the sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University – the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you’ll visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the new city “La ville nouvelle” for a drink. Overnight in Hotel/Riad

Day 3 : Fez – Ifran – Atlas – Cedar forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Morning departure around 8am. Leaving the cultural capital of Morocco behind we’ll drive into the pam tree oasis of the Ziz Valley via the cedar forest of Azrou where you will see colony of Barbary apes. From here we start climbing down the route of the Middle Atlas with a lunch stop in Midelt. As we start approaching Errachidia and Erfoud reaching Merzouga and the magnificent apricot colored sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Here we head off into the vastness of the dunes on a camel caravan accompanied by camelteers. You can ride or walk alongside as you slip into the pace of the caravan led by Berber guides and marvel at the awesome spectacle of the desert and the solitude a silence that comes with it. The camel trek can be as short or as long as you wish. As evening falls we retreat to the comforts of our desert camp.Nothing compares to the millions of stars, silence and peacefulness of the Sahara. Overnight in desert camp

Day 4 : Merzouga – Berber villages – Todra gorges – Dades valley

Today early in the morning , our camel guide will wake you up to watch the sunrise in Merzouga desert. After that we ride camels back to the village . After shower and breakfast in the riad, we’ll head to Rissani , Tinghir, and we reach Todra gorges which is the highest, narrowest gorge in Morocco. Here we may hike within the valley, and after lunch in the gorge we will continue to the Dades valley, where we’ll enjoy sand castles and also the rock formations called “monkey toes”. We stay in Dades Gorges in local hotel with dinner and breakfast including

Day 5 : Dades valley – Rose valley – Ouarzazate – Air Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast , we will travel through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip .we will stop at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah for lunch, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains aduring the beginning of the XXth Century, it used to be one of his stops during his long travel from the Sahara to Marrakech., now the kasbah is one of the UNESCO heritage sites. after that we will shift the way to cross high atlas mountains full of panoramic views and attractive Berber villages all along the way till Marrakeche. End of our Casablanca Desert Tour 5 days.
