Great 4 days camel excursions desert trip from Marrakech to Fes Program :
First Day : Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Skoura oasis/Rose valley
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura Oasis and Rose valley.
We will come to pick up you from your accommodation, Airport, bus station or wherever you want and departure for the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah through the Tizi-n-Tichka col (2260m) with far-reaching views across the mountains. Arrival to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, a spectacular fortified village (Ksour) visit of the Kasbah and lunch on the spot or Ouarzazate. Way towards Skoura Oasis to visit Amredhyle kasbah. Night in a hotel/riad with private shower/bathroom in Skoura oasis or Rose valley.
Day 2: Skoura Oasis/Rose valley – Dades valley – Berber villages – Merzouga (Camel ride – Night in Desert)
After breakfast, we pass via the Dades Valley (Boumalne) in order to continue in direction of Tinghir and the Toudra Gorges, time to walk along the river inside the gorges and afterwards departure to join Erfoud by Tinjdad Palm grove and the village of Touroug (lunch somewhere before arriving to the desert). Break in Erfoud to visit the marble and fossil production workshop (Optional) and then going by track towards the amazing dunes of Erg Chebbi in order to enjoy our adventure with camels, see the sunset and the night in an equipped camp with drums music in the middle of the Sahara, this is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise. Night in a very nice camp with private shower/bathroom.
Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Ziz valley – Midelt/Boulaajoul
Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise in the Sahara Desert and a great breakfast. After these beautiful moments, you will ride your camel back to the the meeting point with the driver then we drive to a traditional house to listen to the Gnaoua (Oreginal from Sudan) music that has a strong link with the Gnaouas religion and spirituality. It is played during religious ceremonies and cultural parties, same as centuries ago.
The instruments include the Ganga (big drum), the Tangagat (small drum), the Iquarquachins(small castanets) and the Hajhouj (a 3 string instrument with low tones). Departure toward Rissani, a very old city known as the big Market, if we are lucky to be in the market day we will have the opportunity to explore it, if it’s not the market day than we have the opportunity to have the Berber Pizza (Madfouna) for lunch. After lunch we go to Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous and the Ziz valley where we stop for a panoramic view of the oasis. Continuation to Midelt/Boulaajoul across the pass of Tizi N’talghamt. Overnight in a hotel/riad with private shower/bathroom in Midelt or Boulaajoul.
Day 4 : Midelt/Boulaajoul – Cedar forest – Ifran – Atlas – Fes
After the breakfast in our hotel/riad we go to the Cedar forest near Azrou city, we take a break and you can feed the apes (monkeys) and take some funny pictures, we drive throught a mountain of the middle Atlas before we arrive to Ifran (The Switzerland of Morocco) for a stop to take some pictures, coffee or to use the toilet. We cross the Berber villages on our way to your accommodation, bus station, airport or wherever you want in Fes.
